SPECIALIST IN BESPOKE FITTED WARDOBES AND FITTED FURNITURE
QUALITY HANDMADE BESPOKE CRAFTSMANSHIP
Bartles Bespoke designs and builds handcrafted bespoke joinery and furniture, made entirely to order. As a bespoke joiner, every project is approached as a one-to-one collaboration, working closely with clients from the initial design stage through manufacture and final installation. This direct, hands-on approach allows for clear communication, careful attention to detail, and furniture that is designed specifically for your home.
My main specialism is bespoke fitted wardrobes, particularly those inspired by Victorian design and rustic farmhouse interiors. These wardrobes are built to measure, with proportions, detailing, and internal layouts carefully considered to suit both the room and the property. Whether the design calls for traditional four-panel doors, period features, or a simpler rustic style, each wardrobe is made to feel like a permanent part of the house.
Alongside fitted wardrobes, I also design and build a wide range of bespoke fitted furniture, including alcove cabinets, floating shelving, libraries, desks, home offices, window seats, seating areas, boot rooms, boiler and utility cupboards, and bathroom vanity units. As a cabinet maker, the focus is always on proportion, function, and how each piece sits within the space. Every piece is handbuilt to the client’s personal specification.
In addition to fitted furniture, I design and build bespoke handmade kitchens and utility rooms, with a strong focus on solid pine kitchens paired with hardwood worktops. Because every cabinet is handmade, there are no fixed sizes or restrictive systems. This allows complete flexibility in layout, storage, and design, making it possible to tailor every element to the space available and the way the kitchen will be used. Designs often take inspiration from traditional farmhouse and Victorian kitchens, though materials and finishes can be adapted to suit a wide range of styles and budgets.
I also take on bespoke freestanding furniture commissions, creating one-off pieces to custom sizes and designs. From simple rustic furniture to more detailed statement pieces, all freestanding furniture is handmade using traditional woodworking techniques. If it can be made from wood, it can be designed, built, finished, and delivered to suit your home and personal taste.
I also specialise in handmade solid pine ledge and brace internal doors, as well as the restoration and installation of genuine Victorian-era four-panel pine doors. Bespoke made-to-measure doors are supplied and installed across the UK.
Alongside bespoke furniture, I also undertake interior and second-fix joinery, including door installation, skirting, architraves, flooring, bannisters and balustrades, dado and picture rails, bespoke fire surrounds, radiator covers, repairs, and refurbishments. This broader carpentry work allows projects to be completed properly and cohesively where required.
Pine is used as standard for many projects due to its durability, character, and suitability for traditional joinery. MDF can be specified where appropriate, and higher-end timbers such as oak and sapele are available by request.
Based in Halifax, Calderdale, I design and build bespoke joinery and furniture for homes across West Yorkshire, including Halifax, Hebden Bridge, Sowerby Bridge, Huddersfield, Leeds, Bradford, and Wakefield, with projects also undertaken throughout the UK by request.
If you are looking for high-quality bespoke joinery, fitted wardrobes, handmade kitchens, or custom furniture, Bartles Bespoke offers a personal, professional service with workmanship built to last. Get in touch to discuss your project or request an estimate.
